My art practice is not imagined but a matter of being. It is an inner call that paints my story as a woman, vocalized through portraits and figures. Women are the protagonists of my work, with a reflection on human rights, empowerment, and the ability to break through barriers. My women are strong characters who have an energy of raw emotion and are not afraid to expose their true selves. Female figures manifested in quirky personas, showcasing their unique identities and attitudes, are at the core of my work. I want to celebrate these women, showing their confidence and ability to push through the norms of ordinary life. I believe growth begins when we escape our comfort zone. That awkward moment where challenging the unknown, and facing it head-on, propels us with strength and perseverance.
Color plays a pivotal role in my work. With saturated and intense colors, the viewer can be captivated by the bold females in their glory. They live in vivid fantasies, surrounded by unusual objects and symbols that reflect the characteristics of their story and my own. The disparities of race or color undefine the portraits, contoured with heavy brushstrokes and transparent faces. My encounters with different cultures have inspired me to create a modern woman as a kaleidoscope of worldly thoughts, emotions, and experiences. These canvases are a liberation. They speak freely from the heart, with women who follow their dreams and are anything but ordinary.
Ana Sneeringer is a Slovenian artist residing in Montgomery AL, USA. Having started her career in documentary journalism as a director of an environmental television station, Ana’s experiences across Jordan, Russia, France, the USA, The Dominican Republic, The Netherlands, and India, led her to express her observations & learnings in her contemporary artworks. Women or the female presence form the epicenter of her artistic exploration and stories. Living around the world and engaging with women from different cultures, Ana’s encounters resonated with the similarities of emotions and experiences everywhere, rather than the disparities of race or color. As a result, her artistic canvas is a vivid, kaleidoscopic world of thoughts, emotions, and experiences shared by the modern woman. Entirely self-taught, Ana finds liberation in employing free will and speaking from her heart, unconfined by a learned discipline. Whether in watercolor, acrylic, or digital media, she gives herself the freedom to experiment based on her subject matter.
Ana’s art has been exhibited internationally in the United Arab Emirates, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Switzerland. All She Makes, Create! Magazine and Beautiful Bizarre Magazine; highly recognizable art platforms for contemporary artists of the 21st century and World of Interiors; the most influential design and decoration magazine from Conde Nast had featured her work. She had been interview by Adobe2 and many other magazines. One of her projects was collaborating with LIDL Slovenia and Europa Donna to raise awareness of breast cancer through her artwork. In 2020 one of her artworks was exhibited and is now part of their collection in one of three National museums in India, Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, India.

"Ana's art is bold with color, brave with images, fierce with female portraits" - Heidi M.C.
"I like the bold color and your drawing style combined. I like that you’re drawing women but not as sexual objects to please men but instead you capture the essence of what it means to be a woman in all its diversity and forms. All your women are beautiful in their own way and you capture what is unique in each of them." - Claire M.
I have sat with my painting for a few days and have found that
She is insulated, fiercely protective of the wisdom she has gained in battle. She knows her power and the sacrifices made to earn it. She will be careful in revealing herself as she finds peace in her own stillness and solitude. - Leigh T.
