This is the title of my third painting from the collection, “Delivered.” I have been working on this painting for a very long time. This work, which required my undivided attention for a few months, looks like a simple painting, yet it is not. I had brought into her the character of both my horses. From pose to color and physical presence.

I have two horses; well, they are the horses of my daughters, but these two are like my kids, too. Their names are Delilah and River. As I once was so afraid to be around these majestic animals, I find this thought now so unrealistic. This had been another escalating change in my life, where I stepped out of my comfort zone to notice the significant personal growth. I have a magical bond with these two horses; they have been my ultimate source of inspiration for my latest collection.

Horses move with a grace and fluidity that mesmerizes me. Their powerful strides and elegant postures are a constant reminder of the beauty in every movement. River is the one who had me start feeling all the feelings I have developed while painting this collection. She would be the one who would come to hang out with me and connect my head to her, as you see in the painting. The depth in her eyes spoke volumes to me. It was healing to be around her. We built a connection that was a journey of trust and partnership, which I painted in this work.

I guess we naturally respect horses because we somehow can relate to them. Maybe because of our similar family structure and capability of communicating emotions and feeling empathy, we both learn to trust, show stress, and thrive in open spaces. We require social relationships to be healthy and learn by observation.

Both of my girls, but mainly River, represent my untamed spirit. Capturing their essence in my art allows me to express my sense of liberation. In every brush stroke, I strive to capture the nature of these magnificent creatures. Horses are not just my newly discovered muse; they are the very soul of my art.

There are no secrets between us.
