Catherin Morin
For Art Miami Week 2023, I Immersed myself in the vibrant world of Morin's compelling artwork at the Wishbone Gallery at Scope. Bold figures with abstract bodies, comically oversized forms, and intentional eyelessness invite contemplation on personal and social narratives.
Today I am, because I can be.
Unrealistic standards and expectations of women, the importance of embracing one's authentic self cannot be overstated. The journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance is powerful, and women must recognize the significance of being true to themselves.
When Change Arrives In Shape, You Least Expect
Delilah’s meaning is delicate and weak, yet if I look at my horse Delilah, she’s nothing, as mentioned in this sentence. There is tons of Delilalh’s meaning, but I chose these two to be meaningful for my painting.
The Sun Had Its Own Will | Painting of inner power
The Sun Had Its Own Will is like life. You have plans, but then the Universe says, I have bigger plans for you, and slaps you in the face. But you don’t know about that plan until you overcome the thing that you thought would be on your agenda to achieve.
There are no secrets between us.
I have two horses; well, they are the horses of my daughters, but these two are like my kids, too. Their names are Delilah and River.
The Other People |
Today, I’d love to speak about my second work from the Delivered collection, “The Other People.”
The Other People goes beyond the painting of a woman with a horse in the middle of the dark cacti forest. This surrealistic yet realistic artwork made me want to be far away from people who are a “thing.”
The Red Rock Home | Where surrealism intertwines with realism.
When I painted the painting “ The Red Rock Home,” I craved something different. I needed bright colors to surround me to remind me of how things can be bright despite gloomy days. I wanted to get lost in the scenery that is serene but has so much to tell. I needed a surrealism intertwined with realism.

Life is seldom a smooth journey.
Life is a journey filled with choices, and the decisions we make along the way often shape our destiny. For women, the power of making decisions cannot be overstated. Portraying the Power of Women Through Art
As I embarked on the path of a creative in 2010, I could explore myself as a woman, next to women I have met worldwide. I have discovered that within every woman resides an extraordinary wellspring of strength, resilience, and untapped potential.
Hailee Steinfeld and Mara The Rug
Mara The Rug found a home with Hailee Steinfeld, an American actress and singer. I hear you ask me, “How did that happen?”.
Well, let me tell you a story.
when things happen first time.REJECTION.
Since I am aware of myself I have been constantly thinking big. Not that I spoke about it with anyone. I was shy to tell my prosperous thoughts to my parents because I thought I won’t be understood.
ONE LOOK, JUDGMENT
This artwork, "One Look," depicts a woman with flowing long pink hair in an enchanting orange lace shirt. Her eyes, filled with mystery, gazed over her right shoulder, peering into the depths of her own emotions.
The Painter's Brush: Art Commissions that Bring Characters to Life on Canvas
The last time I sat in my house observing commissions, I inquired about myself from other artists. It does take courage to commission someone to do an artwork for you, to which you will get attached. I was reflecting on how I've commissioned two sculptures from an artist from whom I bought paintings before me commissioning the artist. To make a long story short, one of the works turned out poorly. I had to speak to the artist and get things sorted out.
WHITE SUN
Before leaving for my trip around the USA, I started working on a new art series. I am not sure what I will call them, but they are figurative works that significantly include my life in the USA. While in my new homeland, we, as a family, welcomed new animals into our life. Horses.
